（基礎英語レベル）を読むと、

良いこと３つ。

 

 

 

１）英検の長文を読む（リーディング）練習ができる。

 

２）教科書の英語とはちょっと違う、ネイティブの自然な言いまわしが分かる。

 

３）英語を話したり、書いたりするときに、より英語らしくなる。

 

 

 

基礎英語力で、やさしく読めるストーリー（335単語）には、下に注釈があります。

他にもし分からない単語があったら、それは推測しながら読んでみて下さい。

英語の上達には、推測力も欠かせないからです。

Tea and Biscuits

 

  

  Do you ever feel like taking a break? Why not wind down and have some tea and biscuits for a change. My favorite teas at the moment are English Breakfast and Earl Grey. You can choose whichever brand you like, but my personal choices are Ahmad Tea and Twinings. 

  The most important thing in making tea with a pot is to always, and I mean ALWAYS, use the same method: one teaspoon of loose leaf tea for the pot, and one teaspoon per person. This means it’s much better to make tea for at least two people at one time, or you will end up wasting too much tea on the pot. If you don’t feel like drinking two cups of tea, you can always save it for later thanks to the microwave.

 

 

 

  Now comes the next important choice for the new tea drinker – milk or no milk. As someone who has been an avid milk drinker his whole life, I can highly recommend Meiji Delicious Milk. This is one of the best milks that I have ever tasted, and even though it is a little on the expensive side when compared to other milks, it really does blend well with the Ahmad/Twinings tea leaves. Of course you may prefer the taste without milk, so try it both ways and see.

 

 

 

  Combine this tea with your favorite hard biscuit, something made from milk/eggs/wheat without too much sugar, and you’re good to go. Or, if you prefer to sweeten your tea with sugar, feel free to go ahead and enjoy it however you prefer. It’s YOUR taste and YOUR tea, and that’s what counts.

 

 

 

 

One bonus of buying loose leaf tea, is that it comes in a compact and rather useful tin. I like to keep the empty tins and fill them with biscuits. That way I can have a biscuit ready at any time, and the more tins you have the more biscuits you can store, always ready for a tea emergency!
